Launched in 1962, TAG Heuer’s Autavia was the first model presented under the leadership of Jack Heuer. In 2022, on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the collection (whose name derives from the union of the words “CAR” and “AVIAzione”), the Swiss company presents three new versions, two in a chronograph key and one with a GMT function. The chronograph, with a 42 mm case, is available with a polished and brushed steel case or with a black DLC treatment. Both variants are equipped with a unidirectional rotating bezel with a ceramic ring, on which the sexagesimal scale is placed, and are powered by the Heuer 02 in-house caliber (diameter 31 mm, 33 jewels, 28,800 vibrations / hour, power reserve of 80 hours, COSC chronometer, column wheel, bridges decorated with côtes de Genève, blackened and skeletonized rotor), mechanical flyback chronograph with automatic winding and visible thanks to the sapphire crystal placed on the back. Water resistance is guaranteed up to 10 atmospheres. The third Autavia launched on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the collection is the GMT, with a 42 mm steel case combined with a bidirectional rotating bezel with a blue ceramic ring, on which the 24-hour scale is located. On the blue dial, in addition to luminescent hands and indexes (also present in the chrono versions), there is the orange 24-hour GMT hand. The movement used in this case is the TAG Heuer Replica 7 caliber (based on ETA, diameter 26.2 mm, 28,800 vibrations / hour, 21 jewels, power reserve of 46 hours, COSC chronometer), mechanical with automatic winding. The Autavia GMT, waterproof up to a pressure of 10 atmospheres, is combined with a steel bracelet, while the two Autavia in the chrono version are equipped with a crocodile strap with a pin buckle fake watches.
