The dial formed by polycrystalline diamonds is an incredible component of this new and unique watch. The man-made diamonds used in the TAG Heuer Carrera Plasma are produced by a network of partners specialized in this disruptive and cutting-edge technology, such as Lusix, Capsoul and Diamaze.
The 44 mm watch case of the TAG Heuer Carrera Plasma is made largely of sandblasted anodized aluminum, a perfect complement to the lightness, color of the material and the strength and purity of the diamond. The TAG Heuer designers have also created a glossy black ceramic bezel that highlights the elegance and contrasting patterns of the timepiece even more.
Carrera Plasma And Polycrystalline Diamonds
To push all limits even further, the Swiss luxury watch manufacturer has joined forces with Capsoul which is a pioneering start-up in diamond design. To create a spectacular crown at 3 o’clock, entirely made of diamond, the two pushers on each side of the crown have been embellished with a DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) coating, which gives the Carrera Plasma a captivating matte touch which contrasts with the brightness of the diamond.

Design and Movement
The design of the TAG Heuer Carrera Plasma is spectacular, and the movement inside this watch is also a true masterpiece: equipped with the impressive TAG Heuer Nanograph movement, the caliber carries the innovative internal carbon hairspring, developed by the TAG Heuer Institute. and made with the same CVD method as lab-grown diamonds.
The carbon hairspring offers exceptional anti-magnetism, impact resistance, stability in all temperature scales and a refined geometry for excellent chronometric performance. This also represents a unique way of mastering the carbon material inside and outside the timepiece, as well as a complete and fusional integration of carbon throughout the watch and with innovative lab-grown diamonds.
The TAG Heuer Carrera Plasma features a black leather strap with black stitching and a black grade 2 titanium buckle with ADLC treatment which gives this stratospheric tourbillon an even bolder look.
Movement Details
The movement is TAG Heuer’s automatic Heuer 02 chronograph, a Swiss-made movement with a 65-hour power reserve in a unique version developed specifically for the TAG Heuer Carrera Plasma. This special edition has been extensively hand-finished and features the TAG Heuer shield-shaped oscillating weight.

The TAG Heuer Carrera Plasma is a timeless timepiece: it incorporates traditional and Haute Horlogerie features such as the chronograph and tourbillon and unleashes itself with a diamond construction technique never seen before.
This TAG Heuer 2022 novelty was guided by an innovative research that has no comparison, planned by the Maison for some time.
A luxury watch cannot always and only stop at the unchanging aspect of classicism and tradition. With the Carrera Plasma TAG Heuer has dared but at the same time demonstrated that it is possible to create Haute Horlogerie more in tune with the times we are living.
As much as its price while emphasizing its exclusivity and making it an unattainable timepiece, for me it is just one detail of a stratospheric timepiece that I pass with flying colors. This is just the beginning, and as was the case with the chronograph tourbillon, in the near future TAG-Heuer will make it more accessible.
